Privacy Policy

The short version: the text you type into FancyTextZone never leaves your browser. The styling happens on your own device, so we never see, store or transmit what you write. This page explains that in full, and is honest about the things we do collect — anonymous traffic stats, cookies and ads — and how to control them.

How your text is handled

FancyTextZone is a client-side tool. When you type into the generator, the conversion from abc to styled Unicode runs in JavaScript inside your browser tab. Specifically:

• The text you enter is never uploaded to our servers — there is no network request that carries it. You can verify this in your browser's developer tools, under the Network tab.
• We do not log, store, or analyse the content of what you type.
• Styles you save as favourites live in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We cannot read them.

This is different from server-side tools, where your input is uploaded for processing. With FancyTextZone there is nothing to upload — and therefore nothing for us to leak, sell or hand over.

What we do collect

Running a public website still involves some data. We keep it to the minimum:

• Standard server logs. Like every website, our hosting and content-delivery provider records basic request data — IP address, browser type, the page requested and a timestamp. This is used for security and to keep the site online, and is retained only for a short period.
• Anonymous usage statistics. We count page views and rough traffic patterns so we know which tools people find useful. This is aggregated and not tied to your identity (see Analytics, below).
• Ad-related data. If ads are shown, our advertising partner may set cookies (see Advertising, below).

We never ask for your name, email or an account in order to use the generator.

Cookies and local storage

We use two different browser storage mechanisms:

• Local storage holds your saved favourites and interface preferences. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
• Cookies may be set by our analytics and advertising partners (Google), as described below. We do not set our own tracking cookies.

You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. The generator keeps working without them.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure anonymous, aggregated traffic — how many people visit, which style pages are popular, and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses — it uses them only briefly to estimate a rough location, then discards them — and we never combine analytics data with anything you type into the tool. The two are completely separate streams. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising

FancyTextZone is supported by ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on the content of the page and your general location — not on the text you style here, which never reaches them. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites.

You can manage or disable personalised advertising in your Google Ad Settings, and review options at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.

Third-party services we rely on

To keep your input private we still depend on a few outside services for the site itself:

• Cloudflare — content delivery, security and DDoS protection. It processes request metadata (like your IP) to serve and protect the site.
• Google Analytics — anonymous traffic measurement.
• Google AdSense — advertising.
• Google Fonts — the heading typeface is loaded from Google's font servers, which receive your IP as part of that request.

Each of these has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. Under the GDPR (EU/UK) these include the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Under the CCPA/CPRA (California) you have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money, but the cookies we use for advertising may count as "sharing" under the CPRA — that is, cross-context behavioural advertising — and you can opt out using the Google Ad Settings and industry tools listed under Advertising above.

Because we do not hold accounts or store the content you type, most requests concern analytics and advertising data held by Google. To exercise any right, or if you have questions, email [email protected] and we will respond.

Data retention

Server and security logs are kept only as long as needed for operational and security purposes, then deleted or anonymised. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration. The content you type is never retained, because it is never collected.

Children

FancyTextZone is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not enable personalised advertising for visitors we have reason to believe are children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here rather than hidden in the background.
